The Rockville 2025 music festival is currently underway at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, and some amazing bands are part of the lineup. Headliners includeGreen Day,Linkin Park,Korn, and 2000s bandShinedown-- who left concert-goers jaws on the floor during their May 15 performance. As they started to kick off a cover of 1970s rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man," Shinedown frontmanBrent Smithsuddenly stopped and said, "Something doesn't feel too right... feels a little off. I mean, we are in Florida..." Another band member continued, "Our band started in Florida, and there's another band from Florida too."Smith then said, "The greatest American rock band on the planet. You may have heard of them. They're calledLynyrd Skynyrd. Ever heard of them? Ladies and gentlemen, we would like you to say hello to Mr.Rickey Medlockeand Mr.Johnny Van Zant.Needless to say, the crowd went wild. People couldn't believe it! "Oh my God... Oh my God... no f***in' way!" Viewers who watched @trevor_stillman's clip on TikTok were equally as blown away by the surprise performance. One person said, "Bawling and I'm not even there." Another added, "Nooo! How could I have missed this?" Someone else noted, "Skynyrd music is so powerful," and another chimed in with, "God bless the Skynyrd band!" Johnny Van Zant is the brother of original vocalist Ronnie Van Zant, who died in a plane crash in 1977. He didn't actually join the band until 1987, but he's helped keep the legendary sound alive through the decades. One thing's for sure, those in attendance at the Shinedown concert the other night will never forget that performance.
