'Days of Our Lives' Star Linsey Godfrey Teases Explosive Showdown: "She Puts Xander in His Place"

Days of Our LivesstarLinsey Godfreyhas had a very busy year as her character Sarah Kirakis has been keeping a life-changing secret from her husband. Now that secret is set to be exposed, and Godfrey shares some interesting perspectives about the recent story developments. On screen Xander's (Paul Telfer) half brother Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) returned to town and with the help of his pseudo-mother Vivian (Louise Sorel), the two falsified a letter from their late father Victor (John Aniston) claiming that he wanted Philip to run Titan alongside Xander. Philip manipulated his way back into the company, but after months of secrecy the secret was finally exposed. Xander initially tried to handle matters quietly, but after being told that due to on-going business deals, it would be a bad look for the company to remove Philip at this point in time. Xander tries to work along side his scheming half-brother, but is unable to do so for long, and eventually takes matters into his own hands and in Philips hotel room beats his brother up. Philip battered and bruised loses consciousness and needs medical attention, but not before uttering that Xander's wife Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) knew Philip's scheme and instead of telling Xander, decided to keep Philips secret. Godfrey recently spoke withSoap Opera Digestabout her characters current storyline. Discussing the moment confrontation scenes, Godfrey shared, "There's definitely some really great scenes coming up between the two of them, highly emotional scenes. You will absolutely see Sarah not back down at all, and she will not be taking any of Xander's s–t, essentially. She'll not be takinganyof it. You will see her not back down. You will see her not be intimidated. You will see her stand so strong, and you'll see her be the one that could be slightly intimidating. She'll put Xander in his place for the first time." Would Godfrey like things to settle down for her character? She added, "Paul and I would like to be like Johnny and Chanel for a little bit and be happy for a while, although I know that they're going through some stuff. Paul and I both would love for them to just stay together and be happy. So there's what we want and what the soap gods want for us. We'll have to wait and see what happens, but there's definitely some really great scenes coming up between the two of them." Teasing some upcoming scenes Godfrey shared, "It was very funny. Noel Maxam, who's our director and co-executive producer, was directing those scenes. We had to do some other ones recently, and he told one of the boom operators, "Just back up, because they're going to get loud." They really wanted us to go for it. It was very funny, because usually it's just one-sided. But for us to be head-to-head, very loud, and battling it out about things… It was very interesting and weirdly kind of cathartic as well." Days of Our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock.
