Reflecting on theirmany differences, Claire, 24, tells PEOPLE that their lives have remained relatively the same as they were before meeting. "It's kind of funny because we talk about how different we are on the show, and one of the big things is I grew up vegetarian and he goes hunting," she says before John, 25, chimes in. "Claire's also not a vegetarian," he reveals, to which she responds, "Anymore — my mom's going to watch this!" FOX Surprised that John exposed her secret, Claire explains. "Oh boy. So, I lived in Nashville for a while, and it was just a little bit more difficult to do there because people love their hot chicken and all of that. So I started a little bit then." "But maybe I'll go back once my mom sees this, I don't know," she jokes. Overall, Claire notes that understanding one another has come easily to her and John. In fact, she admits "it really hasn't been an issue" at all. "I think we did a good job of being really true to ourselves on the show, and we have done our best not to change that," she says. "I don't think we've changed drastically at all. So we just celebrate our differences and learn from each other." John echoes Claire's sentiments, highlighting communication as "one of the strongest" parts of their relationship. "I think that's what's kept us going so strong and also helped us to navigate our differences so well because we're able to just have normal, cool-headed conversations and learn from each other," he adds. FOX Looking back, Claire acknowledges that communication has always been the foundation of their connection, referring tothe moment she asked Johnif he was going to take her on a one-on-one date as an example. "I think that there were a lot of points in the show where we had to put ourselves out there that we weren't used to or ask uncomfortable questions," she says. "But I really liked John in those moments because he was really light-hearted and kept things fun when he knew I was anxious. So I think those times really just helped us bond in general." As for an engagement in the future, the pair says they are still getting to know each other after meeting in an unconventional way, so they don't want to rush into anything. "That's a massive thing of pressure that we were dealing with throughout the whole show, and we wanted to just take this time after the show to go through this without any pressure whatsoever," John shares. "That's just what we're doing. We're just going day by day, seeing how it goes. I think that's the best way to do it because if we start putting all this pressure and timelines and stuff on our relationship, it's just bound for trouble."
