"I have been a problem, for sure, and I've got no problem admitting that," Wallen, 32, said in a press release. "But there are other sides to me as well. I've spent the last 11 months really trying to figure out, 'Do I still want to be the problem? Is it time to move past that phase in my life?' Wallen's album comes out months after hisabrupt exit fromSaturday Night Livein March— which camefive years after his controversial initialSNLappearance. After leaving the set, he posted a picture of an airplane on his Instagram Stories, captioned"Get me to God's country." Weeks after, while onCaleb Pressley'sSundae Conversations,he addressed the incident. When asked if anything had happened on the set of the comedy sketch series, Wallen denied any drama. "No, no," he said. "I was just ready to go home. I'd been there all week." Almost a year before, in April 2024,Wallen was arrested on three felony chargesfor throwing a chair off a rooftop bar while intoxicated. He pleaded conditionally guilty because of judicial diversion. That December,he was sentenced to seven days at a DUI education centerand two years on probation, along with being ordered to pay a $350 fine and court fees. Wallenaddressed the incident in his song "Superman,"a tune written for his 4½-year-old song Indigo Wilder. The album is packed with 37 songsand featuresTate McRae,Post Malone,Eric Church, ERNEST andHARDY. "We recorded around 50 songs for this album and ended up cutting 13," the country star said in a press release about the prolific album. "I feel like we accomplished what I had in mind, and a huge shoutout to my close collaborators on this too. "We started talking about curating a festival that includes my friends, and artists who have influenced me, years ago," Wallen said of the music event.
