Evan Henry, 34, and Pastor Markeitah Henry, 36, were married by hostTamron Hallin an onstage ceremony complete with a performance by soul singer and actorMAJOR. "The experience was phenomenal," Evan tells PEOPLE. "My wife looked beautiful. The set looked beautiful. The cake was delicious. Everything exceeded our expectations. Tamron took this seriously and officiated with such honor and sincerity. We are truly grateful to every single person who played a role in bringing this to life." Knowing we touched so many people in such a short amount of time speaks to the essence of who we are: grateful." In early April, Markeitah was scrolling onInstagramwhen she saw that theTamron Hall Showposted a video of the host announcing the opportunity to be married on the daytime talk show. Plus, the bride would get to wear a gown designed bySay Yes to the DressstarRandy Fenoli, with tailoring byKleinfeld Bridal. "I lit up inside," Markeitah remembers. Jeff Neira/Disney "Honestly, I had already considered theTamron Hall Showan unofficial part of my bridal era. I'd been to three tapings: two with my maids of honor and one with Evan," she continues. "Seeing the announcement just felt like divine timing. And the bonus of wearing a Randy Fenoli original? That was the cherry on top: I've been a fan ofSay Yes to the Dressfor years!" With Evan's permission, Markeitahapplied onlinewhere she detailed their love story. "I love her, so when she asked, there was no hesitation. She came back from each taping glowing; it was clear this show brought her so much joy," says Evan, who is a taekwondo grandmaster, business owner and pastor. The couple met in 2015 in church, where Evan was teaching a class. The pair developed a deep friendship that blossomed into a romance years later around 2023. "Evan was always willing to help whenever I needed a hand, and that reliability turned into something more," says Markeitah, who is a creative designer and ministry leader. By 2024, Evan "knew without a doubt" that he wanted Markeitah to be his wife, so he popped the question during a photo shoot at Six Flags. Jeff Neira/Disney A year later when the pair discovered they were selected for theTamron Hall Showwedding, they almost died — literally. "We were driving at the time and I almost crashed!" Evan recalls. "She opened her email and screamed so loud I had to pull the car over. Once she calmed down, I read the email and was shocked. I couldn't believe we were actually chosen." " 'Excited' may be an understatement. I was completely overwhelmed. Joy, surprise, anticipation, all of it hit me at once," Markeitah says. "I couldn't believe our story had made such an impact." The studio was completely transformed for the big day, thanks to the "gorgeous vision" by renowned event plannerJung Lee. The set was filled with beautiful white and yellow florals and greenery. "I've officiated a few weddings but nothing like this. What a beautiful love story. I shared with them that I was raised by my stepfather who became the most amazing father in the world to me. Most excitingly, MAJOR performed his hit song "Why I Love You" as the couple made their way down the aisle. "I was just happy a dream came true for her. She deserved it," Evan says.
