AmidSean "Diddy" Combs' sex-crimes trial, prosecutors have released the full version of a2016 surveillance videoshowing the mogul physically assaulting then-girlfriendCassie Ventura Fine. The video was firstmade publicby CNN in May 2024 after Ventura Fine detailed the incident in herNovember 2023 lawsuitagainst Combs, which wassettled a day later. In the now-widely circulated clips, Diddy is seen kicking, hitting and dragging Cassie at a Los Angeles luxury hotel on March 5, 2016. The video has not been seen in its entirety until now. The jury saw the full video at different times in court this week ahead of and duringCassie's testimony about the violent incident, among others. See the full video, edited to include the five camera angles presented in court, below. Combs' defense team has called into question the CNN version of the video, claiming thesurveillance footage had been altered. In a joint letter to Judge Arun Subramanian from Combs' defense team and prosecutors in March, Combs' lawyers said they subpoenaed the news network, claiming "a forensic video analysis of the CNN footage" showed it was "substantially altered in significant respects," including being sped up "to make it falsely appear that the actions in the video are taking place faster than they are." They alleged "CNN purchased the only known copy of the Hotel's surveillance footage, uploaded that footage into a free editing software, altered the video; and then destroyed the original footage." Combs' inner circle gave one of the security guards a bag of $100,000 in cash for the video to prevent its release, Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson said duringopening statementsfor the trial. In response, the defense team argued that Combs was "not trying to obstruct justice" but rather to protect both him and Cassie from "bad publicity." Her right eye also appeared to be bruised, with Lopez captioning the photo, "(During @amas rehearsals)." The second image also showed redness under Lopez's right eye and over her right cheek. Jennifer Lopez's Ageless Moments Through the Years A third Story confirmed that the musician required stitches to aid her recovery, with Lopez sharing a photo of herself with a Beverly Hills-based facial plastic surgeon and captioning it, "Thank you for stitching me up Dr. Diamond. A week later and a whole lotta ice, I'm good as new." While she didn't specify which bone she injured, Lopez explained how the mishap went down. "One of the dancer's backs was slippery from sweat and lights and everything," Lopez recalled of her bare-chested crew at the time. "We never bargained for that, because they always had t-shirts on in rehearsal. So they were barebacked, didn't have shirts on for the performance and when I stepped on their backs my feet got wet. So when I landed it just slipped from under me." In addition to fulfilling her second-time hosting duties, Lopez is scheduled to perform at this year's May 26 event. According toBillboard, Lopez is only the fourth music artist in history to host the AMAs twice, followingLionel Richie,Diana RossandPitbull.
