Sean 'Diddy' Combs overdosed in 2012 and was hospitalized, Cassie Ventura testifiesNew Foto - Sean 'Diddy' Combs overdosed in 2012 and was hospitalized, Cassie Ventura testifies

On herthird day of testimony,Cassie Ventura Finerevealed the extent of her andSean "Diddy" Combs' drug use in their decade together, with Combs at one point hospitalized due to "a very strong" opiate. While cross-examining Ventura Fine, one of Combs' lawyers, Anna Estevao, revealed he overdosed on painkillers in 2012. Estevao asked Ventura Fine if she recalled the overdose, and Ventura placed the incident around the same time thatWhitney Houstondied on Feb. 11, 2012. Ventura Fine recalled they'd had a "freak off" that night and had gone to a sex club in San Bernardino, California. She said Combs later went to a party at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles, but she went home. Combs overdosed on painkillers, and she took him to the hospital, Ventura Fine told Estevao. Ventura Fine revealed they had both tried to stop using drugs at times in their relationship, but rehab did not feel like an option for them. They consumed many substances for their "freak offs" and called each other "get-high" partners, she said. Combs would use drugs "daily," Ventura Fine testified. On May 14, during questioning from the prosecution, she said she saw Combs use ecstasy, cocaine, marijuana, ketamine and GHB. Combs got prescriptions for opiates from doctors in "anybody's name … whoever's name hadn't been used a lot," she testified. She saw Combs experience withdrawal multiple times, and his mood changed on them, she told the court. USA TODAY has reached out to Combs' representative for comment. Cassie Ventura testimony:What the singer is saying about Diddy, Kid Cudi, Suge Knight During opening statements, one of Combs' attorneys, Teny Geragos, told the judge and jury that drugs were for "personal use" by Combs and women participating in "freak offs." Meanwhile, prosecutors have proposed drugs were a means by which Combs would ensure they could "stay awake and perform for him for hours and days on end." On May 14, Ventura Finerevealedshe had developed an opioid addiction during her decade-long on-and-off relationship with Combs and sought professional help five or six times. The last time she used opiates was in 2022, she said. Drugs would help make her "feel numb" amid "freak offs" – sexual performances with Combs and escorts that she said lasted as long as four days – which she described as "hell" on her body. She used drugs like ecstasy during "freak offs" so she could "just remain high and not be present with the experience" because it was "something I hated doing," she said on May 13. She always took drugs before a freak off, she said. Scarlett Johansson takes aim at companies using her likeness, voice in AINew Foto - Scarlett Johansson takes aim at companies using her likeness, voice in AI

Scarlett Johansson has continued to share her opinion onartificial intelligence— and she has some suggestions on how the technology should be regulated in the future. During an interview withVanity Fair, the actress spoke out about AI companies that have used her likeness and allegedly her voice in the past. She told the outlet that she is advocating for legislation to be made around evolving technology. "There has to be some agreed-upon set of boundaries in order for [AI] to not be detrimental. I wish more people in the public eye would support and speak out about that — I don't know why that's not the case," Johansson said. What Is Artificial Intelligence (Ai)? This is not the first time Johansson has warned about the dangers of AI. In 2024, Johansson claimed she had been asked to voice OpenAI's Chatbot by CEO Sam Altman, but turned down the job, only for people to notice that the feature, named "Sky," sounded almost exactly like the actress. Read On The Fox News App "Particularly with the A.I. piece. It was like: If that can happen to me, how are we going to protect ourselves from this? There's no boundary here; we're setting ourselves up to be taken advantage of," the 40-year-old toldInStyle Magazinein March. In a statement to NPR following the release of "Sky," Johansson said, "When I heard the released demo, I was shocked, angered and in disbelief that Mr. Altman would pursue a voice that sounded so eerily similar to mine that my closest friends and news outlets could not tell the difference. Mr. Altman even insinuated that the similarity was intentional, tweeting a single word 'her' — a reference to the film in which I voiced a chat system, Samantha, who forms an intimate relationship with a human." The "Black Widow" star's legal team sent OpenAI letters asking for an explanation about how the AI assistant's voice came to be, and the company later agreed to take down "Sky." "The voice of Sky is not Scarlett Johansson's, and it was never intended to resemble hers. We cast the voice actor behind Sky's voice before any outreach to Ms. Johansson. Out of respect for Ms. Johansson, we have paused using Sky's voice in our products. We are sorry to Ms. Johansson that we didn't communicate better," the statement read. Speaking withInStyle, Johansson said she's become a reluctant voice in the AI conversation, but won't back down either. Johansson added that after aHollywood careerthat began as a child, she's not shy about speaking up for herself. "But now I see that I actually built something that… that I have a place here. And because of that, I've been able to stand up for myself and not feel like I would disappear. I can shoulder it," she said. The "Avengers" star alsotook legal action in 2023against an AI image-generating app called Lisa AI: 90s Yearbook & Avatar for using her voice and likeness in an ad posted on X. Johansson's attorney toldVariety, "We do not take these things lightly. Per our usual course of action in these circumstances, we will deal with it with all legal remedies that we will have."
