The rain isn't stopping her show —Beyoncé Knowles-Carteris carrying on with her first"Cowboy Carter" concertin Chicago, despite weather delays and an evacuation. The Grammy-winning singer launched her first concert at Soldier Field on herCowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' CircuitTouraround10:15 pm CT on May 15. "I'm so happy to be on the stage seeing all of your beautiful faces," she said as she opened the show. "Thank you for all your love even throughout the storm. Y'all are here. I am here, and we're going to have a good ol' time." The concert was supposed to kick off at 7:00 p.m. CT. That changed once the Chicago area faced severe weather warnings. Earlier in the day, fans were notified by the director of marketing and PR at Soldier Field, Luca Serra, that the concert would "absolutely" not start before 9 p.m. CTdue to severe weather, including a thunderstorm warning and tornado watchaffecting parts of the Chicago area. As the night progressed, fans were required to evacuate the main stadium area, though they were allowed to take their seats shortly before 9:00 p.m. A special message#CowboyCarterTourpic.twitter.com/F2qBLt3orD — COWBOY CARTER Updates 𐚁 ☆▷ (@B7Album)May 16, 2025 During that time, a message displayed onstage read, "Thank you for your patience during this time. We are setting the show and getting the floor ready to receive guests. Looking forward to a great show!" The special message confirmed to fans that the show, in fact, would go on. Chicago native and Beyhive member Damian Roa, 24, waited hours and endured the evacuation before the show began. "It was quite a day but we made it! I knowBeyoncéis a professional, so she would never cancel a show! I got my hat protector and poncho in case the rain would continue," Roa said. Beyoncé will perform her"Cowboy Carter" tourat Soldier Field for a total of three nights, including May 17 and 18. Beyoncé first debuted the highly anticipated show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on April 28 with 39 songs on the set list. She performed a total of five shows there, with each taking place on April 28, May 1, May 4, May 7 and May 9. The concerts proved to be arevolutionary spectaclefilled with fashion, different music genres and most notably country music and politics. The nine-city tour will span the U.S. and Europe, with the grand finale taking place in Las Vegas on July 26. Beyoncé has already made history with her scheduled tour dates, including playing the most dates at SoFi Stadium of any artist. "10 Things I Hate About You" director recalls how an unknown Heath Ledger beat out 253 other actors for the role

Buena Vista/Courtesy Everett Heath Ledgersecured his10 Things I Hate About Yourole before he spoke a single word. As Gil Junger, the director of the beloved 1999 teen rom-com, works to geta trilogy of follow-up filmsoff the ground, he recalls toEntertainment Weeklyhow and why he cast a then-unknown Ledger as brooding high school bad boy Patrick Verona. "Actors always wanted to know, 'What did he do? What did he do to make you cast him?'" Junger says. "He was magic." He continues: "The truth of the matter is we were casting and he walked into the room, and I'm very picky. I had already read 253 guys — 253 guys! And then Marcia Ross, the head of Disney casting, said, 'Look, this next kid, I don't know him. It's a favor for an agent I respect. So if he's no good, just stop it and send him on his way.'" Buena Vista/Getty But when Ledger walked into the room, he made an immediate impression. "Don't forget, I've been casting for months and did not have the guy yet," Junger remembers. "And this is the God's honest truth, on my parents' life: He took three steps into the room, and my thought was, 'If this f---er can read English, I'm going to cast him.'" Before Ledger had spoken a line of dialogue, he exuded an energy that Junger knew was a perfect fit for the movie's romantic lead. "He just had a magnetism unlike I've ever felt. It was undeniable," the filmmaker says. "If there's old souls, he must have been centuries old because he just had a way about him that — he was only 17, and yet he just was so confident and loving and wanted to be the best he could be. He was just an incredible young man." For the uninitiated,10 Thingsstars Ledger as a mysterious Padua High senior who is bribed by fellow student Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) to court their abrasive classmate Kat (Julia Stiles) in a twisted Shakespearean ploy intended to get Kat's younger sister, Bianca (Larisa Oleynik), permission to date. 10 Things I Hate About Youmarked a breakout role for Ledger, who made a big impression on audiences as a romantic lead who recites poetry, engages in paintball warfare, and evenserenades Katin one of the film's most memorable scenes. Ledger would solidify his status with movies likeA Knight's Tale,Brokeback Mountain, and eventuallyThe Dark Knight, for which hewon a posthumous Oscarin 2009. (Ledger died at 28 in 2008.) Junger says he so enjoyed spending time with Ledger while working on10 Thingsthat he instructed his driver to pick the actor up first and then get him, so they could ride to set together. He also remembers Ledger's first day on set. "He was wearing Frye boots from the '70s, and then he had on these worn-out olive green leather pants, a white leather belt, some crazy shirt, and a hat like a beanie," Junger says with a laugh. "And I looked at him and I thought, 'God, he's cool.' And then I also thought, 'If I wore one of those pieces of clothing, I would be the laughing stock of everyone that knows me.'" Junger adds, "He just had this magic where you could just throw anything on him, maybe even paint it, and he'd be amazingly cool, because the kid you saw in the movie, that's who he was. He was just an amazing human." Want more movie news? Sign up forEntertainment Weekly's free newsletterto get the latest trailers, celebrity interviews, film reviews, and more. Junger is hoping tokeep the10 Thingslegacy alivewith10 Things I Hate About Dating, a spiritual successor telling a new love story between a pair of adversaries-turned-lovers. While he intends to maintain the "same blend of heart and humor" as the original movie, Junger says he avoided pursuing a direct sequel out of respect for Ledger's memory. Sean 'Diddy' Combs overdosed in 2012 and was hospitalized, Cassie Ventura testifiesNew Foto - Sean 'Diddy' Combs overdosed in 2012 and was hospitalized, Cassie Ventura testifies

On herthird day of testimony,Cassie Ventura Finerevealed the extent of her andSean "Diddy" Combs' drug use in their decade together, with Combs at one point hospitalized due to "a very strong" opiate. While cross-examining Ventura Fine, one of Combs' lawyers, Anna Estevao, revealed he overdosed on painkillers in 2012. Estevao asked Ventura Fine if she recalled the overdose, and Ventura placed the incident around the same time thatWhitney Houstondied on Feb. 11, 2012. Ventura Fine recalled they'd had a "freak off" that night and had gone to a sex club in San Bernardino, California. She said Combs later went to a party at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles, but she went home. Combs overdosed on painkillers, and she took him to the hospital, Ventura Fine told Estevao. Ventura Fine revealed they had both tried to stop using drugs at times in their relationship, but rehab did not feel like an option for them. They consumed many substances for their "freak offs" and called each other "get-high" partners, she said. Combs would use drugs "daily," Ventura Fine testified. On May 14, during questioning from the prosecution, she said she saw Combs use ecstasy, cocaine, marijuana, ketamine and GHB. Combs got prescriptions for opiates from doctors in "anybody's name … whoever's name hadn't been used a lot," she testified. She saw Combs experience withdrawal multiple times, and his mood changed on them, she told the court. USA TODAY has reached out to Combs' representative for comment. Cassie Ventura testimony:What the singer is saying about Diddy, Kid Cudi, Suge Knight During opening statements, one of Combs' attorneys, Teny Geragos, told the judge and jury that drugs were for "personal use" by Combs and women participating in "freak offs." Meanwhile, prosecutors have proposed drugs were a means by which Combs would ensure they could "stay awake and perform for him for hours and days on end." On May 14, Ventura Finerevealedshe had developed an opioid addiction during her decade-long on-and-off relationship with Combs and sought professional help five or six times. The last time she used opiates was in 2022, she said. Drugs would help make her "feel numb" amid "freak offs" – sexual performances with Combs and escorts that she said lasted as long as four days – which she described as "hell" on her body. She used drugs like ecstasy during "freak offs" so she could "just remain high and not be present with the experience" because it was "something I hated doing," she said on May 13. She always took drugs before a freak off, she said.
