In a new interview with theWall Street Journalpublished Thursday, May 22, the TikTok star, 24, opened up about her years-long journey treating her acne and shared that a Proactiv fromKendall Jennerhelped her to feel more confident about the process. "I just wish I knew that people out there had skin like me," sheshared with the outlet. "I've always had very acne-prone skin. I remember just, you know, comparing myself to everyone else online." "So when I started dealing with super, super bad cystic acne, as much as it was the last thing I ever wanted to post about, and I was so embarrassed and so scared at first, that's truly what kickstarted my success," she added."I always try now to just be realistic about, you know, filters or photoshopping. And I just think it goes a long way." In Jenner's campaign, the now-29-year-old model shared photos to social media of bumps that appeared on her face as a teen and compared them to pictures of herself taken 10 years later. Earlehas been outspoken about her acnein the past.Just last month, she shared some candid photos of an outbreak on her cheek and neck that flared up just as she was getting ready for a weekend of parties and travel in New York City. "The info I have gathered is that no one cares & we are our own worst enemy," the influencer wrote onInstagramin April, alongside photos of her parties, a trip to the dermatologist and a snap of her makeup-free face. "After 3 days of being out fresh-faced show[ing] my real skin … I realized no one cared or noticed," she wrote in the caption. "At the end of the day, putting makeup over blistering acne just to wash it off and irritate it isn't for me." She continued: "It's for others who I'm scared may judge me." That same weekend, Earle detailed what her dermatologist-approved skincare routine consists of in severalTikToks— and fans were shocked to find out that the influencer wasn't allowed to wear any cosmetics, at least for the weekend.
