While speaking to PEOPLE at theSirensworld premiere, the actor, 49, opened up about how he approached his role as Ethan Corbin II in Netflix's latest beach drama. "My character's very kind of naive and slightly oblivious, and I sort of pride myself on being the exact opposite of that in the real world," he explained. "I try really to hard to understand how my actions affect other people and not move through the world in an oblivious manner." Howerton added how some of Ethan's "more oblivious moments" have been "a little difficult for me to play because it's just so different from me, but that's also what I love about it." "Sometimes I do, and sometimes it's good to just put on a lucky blazer and be a totally different person." "It's this very kind of ethereal mystery, suspense drama, but it is also really, really funny," he said of the series. "It strikes a tone that I don't think I've ever really seen before. And then there's just so many marvelous actors in it that are just really putting forth really impressive work. "It's not a big commitment. It's longer than a movie, but it's only five episodes. So I think it's going to fly by and people are maybe even possibly going to want more," he added.
