'The Bachelor' meets 'Fixer Upper' in new HGTV seriesNew Foto - 'The Bachelor' meets 'Fixer Upper' in new HGTV series

The "Bachelor" mansion is getting theHGTVtreatment. The luxurious backdrop to more than 40 seasons of ABC's"The Bachelor"and"The Bachelorette"is getting a facelift, courtesy of some of the lovestruck hopefuls who have stayed in its bedazzled halls. Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of "Bachelor" producer Warner Bros. Unscripted Television and home renovation network HGTV, announced a new series on May 14: "Renovating the Bachelor Mansion" (working title). The new unscripted show will see former "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" contestants, who (hopefully) have skills in interior design and home renovation, returning to compete in design challenges on the property in hopes of winning a cash prize. The new series is set for 2026 on HGTV and the newlyredubbed HBO Max. The famed "Bachelor" mansion is located in Aurora Hills, CA, and is a sprawling, Mediterranean-style villa that has previously beenrented out on Airbnb for $6000 a night. It has been the setting for catfights, first kisses, group dates, breakups and countless rose ceremonies since the reality dating franchise began in 2002. It might look a little different in future seasons after the former bachelors and bachelorettes get their hands, and sledgehammers, on it. The new series was announced at WBD's 2025 upfront presentation in New York, an annual event in which networks and streaming services show off upcoming content to advertisers in the hopes of selling commercial time. Other new series were announced at the event, including toe-tapping Shark Week addition "Dancing With Sharks" (working title) for Discovery Channel, "Guy's Flavortown Games" on Food Network featuring Guy Fieri and a new "90 Day Fiancé" spinoff on TLC, "90 Day: Hunt For Love." Seth MacFarlane Takes Aim at Ellen DeGeneres' 'Mean' ReputationNew Foto - Seth MacFarlane Takes Aim at Ellen DeGeneres' 'Mean' Reputation

Family GuycreatorSeth MacFarlaneheld nothing back when roasting celebrities during a New York City charity gala. On Tuesday, May 14, at the Robin Hood event, MacFarlane — known for his "equal opportunity offender" approach to humor — called outEllen DeGeneres' fall from gracefollowing the 2020 scandal around her eponymous talk show. In the same line, he also commented on DeGeneres and wifePortia de Rossi'smove to the U.K.in late 2024, followingPresident Donald Trump's election win. PerPage Six, after an uncomfortable joke about attendeeKeith Urbandoing cocaine onstage — the country star, who has been candid about his past substance abuse issues, has been sober for years — MacFarlane took the jab at DeGeneres. MacFarlane quipped that the former talk show host "left [the U.S.] right after the election," DeGeneres is now "the nicest person in France." DeGeneres, who spent decades as the beloved host of her talk show — and scored millions of Disney fans as the voice of Dory fromFinding Nemo— saw her reputation quickly nosedive after a bombshellBuzzFeedreport that cited many current and former employees' statements about a "toxic" work environment onEllen. After addressing her employees amid the 2020 scandal — telling the staff that the show would be a "place of happiness" and "respect" — "obviously, something changed, and I am disappointed to learn that this has not been the case. And for that, I am sorry." "I learned that things happened here that never should have happened," DeGeneres later told her viewers on-air, noting that she "take[s] responsibility for what happens at my show." After the show ended in 2021, DeGeneres reflected on the scandal in her 2024 stand-up special,For Your Approval, on Netflix. "I've spent an entire lifetime trying to make people happy and I've cared far too much what other people think of me," she said. "So, the thought of anyone thinking that I'm mean was devastating to me, and it consumed me for a long time ... [but] after a lifetime of caring, I just can't anymore. So I don't." Family Guy, meanwhile, called out the allegations against DeGeneres' talk show in a 2022 episode spoofing the infamous ASPCA commercials starringSarah McLachlan(and her tearjerker of a ballad, "In the Arms of the Angels"). Instead of encouraging the audience to donate to the emaciated and shivering dogs in the real-life commercials,Family Guy's parody begged viewers to donate to the "terrified grips," a "Teamster sobbing in his car after work" and a "camera operator having a sandwich slapped out of his hand just for making eye contact" that appeared in their spoof. The send-up of a cutaway ended with another jab at DeGeneres, this one poking fun at her penchant for her staff and guests to try on over-the-top holiday sweaters. "Please, give today," the voiceover stated. Because no one should have to spend Thanksgiving watching a millionaire try on sweaters."

On the stand at Combs' high-profile federal sex crimes trial on Wed., May 14, the R&B singer told jurors why she didn't fight back. Doing so, she testified, "just made him more violent, made him stronger." Wearing a body-hugging grey dress with a black jacket she took off shortly after sitting down to testify, the eight-months pregnant Ventura told jurors that in the past, his response to her defending herself varied. "He was surprised I was actually fighting back— it made him have more anger, more frustration," she said. The "Me & You" singer, who is married to personal trainer Alex Fine, is testifying about how her powerful ex-boyfriend of 11 years allegedly forced her to perform sex acts and abused her physically and emotionally. The beating at the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles in March 2016 left Ventura with a black eye, bruised and cut lip and multiple bruises on her arm and legs, she testified. When Combs first started beating her, she said she did try to defend herself, but learned that the consequences of that only made him angrier, she alleged on the stand. "I did [fight back] more on the early side [of their relationship] and make it worse for myself," she said.
