When Counting Crows hit it big with their 1993 debut album,August and Everything After, frontmanAdam Duritzwas known for his dreadlocks. But while the 60-year-old singer is still making music with the other members of the band, his signature hairstyle was nowhere to be seen in a recent video. Duritz's unmistakable voice sounded exactly the same in a new clip shared to TikTok featuring the band recording a song for their new album,Butter Miracle, The Complete Sweets!. His hair, on the other hand, was short, and he had a full beard — a stark contrast from the clean-shaven face fans first saw him with in the famous "Mr. Jones" video. TikTok users loved hearing Duritz singing again, with one praising his "iconic voice." "His voice takes my soul," gushed another fan. Others couldn't help but get nostalgic over the clip. "Counting Crows formed part of who I am," one commenter admitted. "Awesome band from my college days! His lyrics are so deep," added another person. One fan, however, missed the old Duritz, complaining, "the hair was the magic." While styles and times have certainly changed since Counting Crows were on MTV every five minutes, Duritz is grateful that his band is still together. In an interview withGQearlier this month, the musician opened up about the ups and downs of his career, noting that it's been both "really successful and really frustrating." "We started off well and did a lot of really great work for 10 years that got swept under the rug," Duritz said, adding, "I'm really bitter about how people treated us, how people disregarded the music and wrote about me as a celebrity. But most of my friends, at one point or another, broke up their bands. We're still here."
