Brueckner tells PEOPLE exclusively that she always hoped to be a positive influence on her loyal followers. "I felt like I was like a big sister to all these girls, always trying to give them good advice. I always take it very seriously, trying to be a good role model," she says. "I always took that role pretty seriously. I love when people say, 'I've watched you since before Josh,' because I think that's so cool that someone has cared enough about my life to want to continue to support me and for that long," she adds. Josh and Katie Brueckner A few years into her YouTube journey, the content creator introduced her followers to her then-boyfriend, Josh Brueckner. The two started dating in 2018, and Katie's followers quickly fell in love with their fun dynamic. Together, they formedJatieVlogs, posting their first video that same year. They document their trips, dates, and major milestones in their relationships, such as their March 2021 wedding. "We used to do a lot more pranks with each other. As we've gotten older, our content has definitely switched into more family content now that we have a kid in our life," Katie says. They had their first daughter, Skye, on Sept. 5, 2023. In February 2024, they revealed they were expecting their second daughter, who is due in late August. Despite starting out as pranksters, the Brueckners hope that their followers continue to see how authentic their relationship is. "I would love it if people could see me and think, 'Oh, wow. This is a genuine couple who just love each other, love spending time with each other,'" Katie says. Josh and Katie Brueckner "We're still the same couple, but now it's seeing where our life went five or 10 years later, with kids, and we're showing what it looks like to be in a healthy relationship with kids and to have a dad who's so involved in his kids' lives." Josh agrees that it's been fun having a community to grow and evolve with. "It's cool when people, back then, when we first started dating, saw our content, and saw how much we loved each other and how much we got along," Josh shares. "I would want them to come back years later and see we have a kid. I would want them to look up to our relationship in a way." As for the pranks that originally got them millions of views, that chapter isn't fully closed for them. The Brueckners say they will slowly introduce pranks to their children, but ones that are light-hearted and fun, similar to ones their families pulled on them. "I definitely like doing pranks here and there. It depends," Josh says. "Now that I'm older and with a kid, like I feel like, more sensitive once you have a kid. But even to this day, we still like to pull little pranks on each other. We're not filming every single one but we have a good time with it." Read the original article onPeople
